In 2014, there was no vote in November for over two-thirds of House seats and almost half of Senate seats because only a single candidate filed or the race was decided in a party primary. Conversely, the 18 districts that are now more Democratic than they were two years ago are all in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas. In 2016, Trump became the first Republican presidential nominee to win the state in 28 years.

Those who decide to vote at their assigned polling place should bring their mail ballot with them to give to poll workers.

The polls are open here in Butler County (and statewide) until 8 p.m.

In Spokane County races, Democrat Robbi Katherine Anthony filed for the commissioner seat now held by Republican Al French, who is expected to seek re-election.




Polls are open in Schuylkill County today for the 2018 Pennsylvania primary election. Idaho voters are set to pick their Republican gubernatorial nominee, while heavily Republican Nebraska and Democratic-leaning OR are also holding primaries Tuesday.

The state Supreme Court's decision on substantially overhauling a congressional map widely viewed as among the nation's most gerrymandered will have an effect on local U.S. House races.
