Hofstra softball plays at SC in NCAA Tournament

The fourth-seeded Florida State Men's Golf team begins its NCAA postseason run when it participates in regional play beginning Monday, May 14, at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla. United Kingdom will welcome in Michigan, Notre Dame and Illinois-Chicago for the regionals. The victor of the double-elimination regional advances to the super regionals (best two of three) with that victor advancing to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Behind Lizzie Annerino's 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, the Terriers (39-18, 15-3 Patriot) stunned OU in its first game of the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Sooners have hosted a regional in each of the last eight years. JMU will face Ohio University on Friday.

Regional, Drake (43-10) and BYU (35-20) are joined by Albany (30-24) and the No. 1 overall team in the tournament, OR (47-7).

USC went 25-2 at Beckham Field in the regular season. Arizona played to a 24-1 record against all other competition.

The NCAA Tournament selection committee chose Mississippi State to be the number two seed in the Tucson Regional, hosted by the Arizona Wildcats.

The Titans received one of the two Pool B bids as the WIAC does not have an automatic qualifier this season.

Rachel Lawson is hoping for a "great turnout" of Kentucky fans for this weekend's NCAA Tournament Regional when United Kingdom will host Michigan, Notre Dame and Illinois-Chicago. Nine of the 16 host sites are from the SEC including 2017 national runner-up Florida, who is the No. 2 seed this season. South Carolina, which is hosting the regional, is 45-14. MSU is the No. 10 seed. It is home of the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League as well as the Saints.

The Tigers barely made the tournament with a record of 28-27 that included a 6-17 finish in their conference slate.
