Playable Ewoks are coming to Star Wars Battlefront II

Playable Ewoks are coming to Star Wars Battlefront II

The return of crystals will only be one portion of Battlefront 2's April update. This update will add a new mode called Ewok Hunt, available for a limited time, in which Stormtroopers and Ewoks do battle in the dark on the Ewok homeworld.

For those who absolutely don't want to spend real money no matter what, these looks can also be purchased in your in-game credits. Meanwhile, the Stormtrooper players will have to try and win by holding off the Ewoks for a period of time until an extraction team arrives. The headliner for the content drop is Ewok Hunt, a new game mode that seems like it will play like an infection-style game.

Microtransactions were pulled from Battlefront II hours ahead of its launch in North America, reportedly due to Disney CEO Bob Iger's concern over the intense backlash the original system received from fans. Star Wars Battlefront II would provide free DLC as to not separate its playerbase.

The Endor update to Star Wars Battlefront 2 will go live on April 18. The good news is that this isn't the return of a pay-to-win situation, since the crystals will only be usable on cosmetic items that have no effect on gameplay, with 50 different new outfits to choose from.

Players might remember that the original version of Battlefront 2 by Pandemic Studios had a "Hunt" mode, where players could take control of the native species of planets like Endor, Kashyyyk, and Naboo. Some troopers are also getting a visual upgrade as 40 new appearances are available in this upcoming update. "And in the cases where we don't get it right, we just have to listen and learn from it and be better". "We'll continue to improve the game, we'll continue to push on these things, and we'll have to be very cautious with what this means for future products". An official forum post offers the full details.

Crystals are also making their way back into the game after the controversy surrounding Star Wars and microtransactions.
