Xiaomi launches Mi TV 4 in India, priced at INR 39999

Multiple leaks, rumours and even official teasers have seemingly confirmed that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5 phone and the Mi TV 4 in India on Wednesday at a press conference in New Delhi. The smartphones come as successors to Xiaomi's top-selling smartphone in India, the Redmi Note 4. On top of this, the Redmi Note 5 comes with an Adreno 506 graphics card, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, hybrid SIM card slots, a fingerprint sensor, and the Android Nougat MIUI 9.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's camera is anticipated to be 'India's camera beast and will be priced competitively to take on the likes of Honor 7X and Honor 9 Lite.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available for purchase starting February 22 via Flipkart and the company's offline channels as well. More on that later.

Jain, citing IDC data, said that it sold over 9.6 million units of Redmi Note 4 in the calendar year 2017.

The Redmi Note 5 comes equipped with a 5.99-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio display which has a FullHD+ resolution (2160x1080 pixels) and a pixel density of 403ppi.

The Redmi Note 5 could be powered by Snapdragon 636 or 630 Chipset, the original Chipset is still unknown. While the 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of onboard storage, the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants offer 64GB of internal storage.

The Mi TV 4 will come with content from Hotstar, Voot, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Zee 5, Alt Balaji, The Viral Fever, etc., and 80 percent of the content will be free to access.

Xiaomi has chosen a 20-Megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor for the front camera and has also baked in a front-facing LED flash.

Xiaomi has announced its first TV in the Indian market, the Mi TV 4.

Another more interesting thing here is that the Redmi Note 5 Pro variant will also get an additional 6GB RAM option, but the storage remains the same at 64GB, which is more than enough for this price segment.

Mi TV 4 sports a ultra-slim design with just 4.9mm thickness. Mi TV 4 is the company's most advanced smart TV till date. By using the Mi IR cable, both the content can be accessed with Bluetooth remote control. All Mi TV 4 models feature Samsung or LG 4K display panels. The introductory offer is valid for the customers who buy the Mi TV 4 within the next three months.
