Black Panther Is Now Certified Fresh On Rotten Tomatoes

The Kenyan-Mexican actress, who plays spy Nakia in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, took time out at the London Black Panther premiere on Thursday (08Feb18) to pay tribute to the actor, who has been nominated for an Oscar for his performance in hit horror movie Get Out.

The film, which opens February 16, has an African-American director (Ryan Coogler) and a strong African-American cast, with Chadwick Boseman playing the titular king of the Afrofurtuist nation of Wakanda.

I suppose when you can count the number of negative reviews on one hand, that isn't such a bad thing, eh?

"I've always loved Kraven the Hunter in nearly every iteration". You don't have that character. So there was a moment [when I asked], 'Can I grab Kraven?' and they [said], 'Nah, you don't have Kraven.' He was one where I thought, 'Oh, man.' But I don't even know if he would have worked in the movie we ended up with. Best-known as a Spider-Man villain, Kraven's MO is to go after superheroes with animal names and mount their heads on his wall.

Reactions to the Black Panther soundtrack have been overwhelmingly positive on Twitter. However, it just wasn't meant to be.

The end of Homecoming may have loosely set up its own origins for a Sinister Six movie, but it looks like Sony will still power through with its plans to bring the notorious team of supervillains to our screens alongside Kraven and Mysterio movies. Likewise, Kraven, who's also a founding member of the Spidey foe collective, The Sinister Six (which Sony has long-eyed for a spinoff film), is also the center of one of Spider-Man's darkest and most tragic storylines, in 1987's "Kraven's Last Hunt" run, which saw the foe commit suicide after he was satisfied that he fulfilled his goal in finally defeating his web-spinning foe (of course, in true comic book fashion, he was later resurrected.).

"The trouble with the highly anticipated Black Panther is that it doesn't know what it wants to be: super hero extravaganza, activist action flick, James Bond wannabe or Coming to America", the review states in part.
