Game Recap: Atlanta ends Rams season 26-13

Freeman carried the ball 18 times for 66 yards and got some serious - and potentially illegal - help from Alex Mack on a touchdown run in the first half.

Smith threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns for the Chiefs, who haven't won a home playoff game since January 1994.

Saturday's test comes in the form of the pesky Atlanta Falcons, who are hell-bent on changing their reputation after the historic collapse against New England in last season's Super Bowl.

According to the report, attendance at Rams games during the 2017 season was down approximately 25 percent from 2016. But with weapons like Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman for Matt Ryan to work with, the Eagles understand the Falcons aren't a team to take lightly. But things shifted for the Falcons in the third quarter, when they finally got a consistent ground game going.

The young Rams served notice of their vast potential with a 42-7 shellacking of the Seahawks - who had won the NFC West three of the previous four years - in Seattle two weeks ago. Cooper bobbled several other kicks as jitters were clearly a factor. The Rams hope to do what the Falcons did to them in 2004 but Atlanta wants to show that experience will win out. Leading the charge was Aaron Donald. He finished with four tackles and half a sack, but even when he was not in on a play, he usually affected it. The fact they're the only NFC team from last year's postseason to make it in speaks to the volatility of such things, but when a team goes to the Super Bowl and leads the National Football League in scoring and, well, nearly slams New England for the championship, it enters the following season with a certain expectation level.

It has been 39 years since the Rams hosted a playoff game in Los Angeles. Last season, the Falcons beat the Rams 42-14, but this is a completely different situation. They also have an MVP candidate in running back Todd Gurley, who led the National Football League with 2,093 yards from scrimmage to go with 19 touchdowns during the regular season.

Featuring a young team on the rise along with a trio of NFC South squads, there are plenty of intriguing storylines heading into the first round of the playoffs. He had only four catches for 10 yards on Saturday night. Second-year tight end Tyler Higbee has a high ceiling as does second-year defensive end Morgan Fox, who spelled Michael Brockers after he left with a knee injury. Everyone in this locker room has been doing everything they can to make sure that when we step on the field this time on Saturday, that we've got everything ready to go.
