Indian troops martyr two more Kashmiri youth in IHK

Speaking to ANI, the Kashmir IG said that two jawans also got injured during the course of the operation. One militant, who is present inside a house, is on hunt.

It was reported that the gunfight started on Monday evening in Batmuran village of Shopian district when the troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police allegedly surrounded the house.

Two militants were killed in a gunfight in Bhatmaran Wanpora village of Shopian district while a woman died in a bullet injury after clashes between youth and forces.

The police said that the woman died in the crossfire between militants and forces during the encounter. She was shifted to hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. They were identified as Tanveer Ahmad from Batmuran Shopian and Ali @Qari, a foreign militant.




Senior police officials of the region confirmed that four civilians have suffered bullet injuries during the clashes while six others have been grievously injured due to pellet fires. While the cordon was being laid, hiding militants fired upon the joint search party, thus starting an encounter.

The police claimed that the killed militants were "involved in a number of militant incidents including the recent attack on the vehicle of J&K Bank near Poju Shopian on 11th of December 2017 in which two bank guards were killed". "We request people not to come out as the area is still not cleared".

Locals alleged that Ruby aka Beauty Jan was hit by a bullet during the clashes.

"The militants continued firing on the forces which was retaliated". Police further said that " as cordon was strengthened the civilians of nearby area were evacuated".
