FAU Gives Lane Kiffin 10-Year Deal

Kiffin and FAU have agreed on a contract extension that will extend his stay at Florida Atlantic through the 2027 season, according ESPN.

With the ESPN spotlight on the FAU Owls and Coach Lane Kiffin, expect them to not only show up but to put on a show. The Zips won the first bowl game in school history in 2015, defeating Utah State, 23-21.

The Lane Train will be making an extended stop in Boca Raton.

Tuesday was a big day for the Florida Atlantic coach. Gilbert is a first-team all-Mid-American Conference selection who has recorded more than 120 tackles each of the last two seasons.

You can listen to the interview with Kiffin below. FAU (10-3), which won Conference USA in Kiffin's first season as coach, welcome in Bowden and the Akron Zips (7-6), who lost to Toledo in the MAC championship game. They defeated North Texas earlier this month in the Conference USA title game.

BUZZ: FAU is riding a nine-game winning streak, and the Owls have averaged 45.4 points and 532.2 yards in those nine games.

In addition to Singletary, quarterback Jason Driskel, a returning starter who opened the season No. 3 on the depth chart, has been a key figure in FAU's closing rushing.

"We're obviously looking toward keeping Lane long term". In fact, having an ample amount of time to prepare for Akron's trick plays mixed in with a dominant running game will make for some fun college football.

The Zips are bowling for the second time in three years but just the third time in 32 FBS (or Division I-A) seasons. There was speculation that Kiffin might head elsewhere after he led the team to nine straight wins to end the season and proved he can handle being a head coach again.

For the younger Kiffin, success has come a lot quicker than expected - except for Kiffin himself.
