Stephanie McMahon announces women's only Royal Rumble match

"They deserve their own match at Royal Rumble".

It all went down at the end of the show when Stephanie McMahon interrupted a brawl between all of the women to make the announcement.

Stephanie McMahon broke the news live on Monday Night Raw that there will be an all-female version of the traditional elimination match at the first pay-per-view of 2018.

The sheer amount of women performers on the WWE roster at the moment means the company will be able to hold the match with anywhere from 20 to 30 competitors, which is a far cry from the measly 30-second tag matches the company was affording women on TV just two years ago.

Though the specifics of the match are yet to be announced, it's likely that the victor of the match will receive a shot at either the Raw or Smackdown Women's Championship at the upcoming WrestleMania 34 in April.

The biggest question is who will win the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match?

This year, WWE created its first women's tournament, Mae Young Classic, which included 32 of the top female competitors from 16 countries, underscoring the breadth and global diversity of women in sports entertainment.

Since then, WWE has placed a greater emphasis on its female stars, including recruiting talent from around the world.

Paige has been there since the early stages and really helped jumpstart the process of bringing women into the spotlight of the WWE Universe once more.

WWE Monday Night Raw is heading to Miami for New Year's Day night (Monday, Jan. 1, 2018) at the AmericanAirlines Arena, home to the three-time National Basketball Association champion Miami Heat.
