Man United's Romelu Lukaku escapes FA action over Gaetan Bong clash

"As soon as I saw it, I thought they will probably look at it".

"The way Romelu wins the corner for the goal, the way Romelu ends the game making tackles in the left back position, that is the mentality I want", he added. And unfortunately not every player is the same.

He failed to score against Brighton on Saturday, when the hosts needed a second-half own goal from defender Lewis Dunk to overcome the top-flight newcomers at Old Trafford.

The incident happened during the corner which led to Ashley Young's deflected victor at Old Trafford last Saturday.

While the striker may not be finding the net much at the moment, it's a positive sign for United that he's at least offering defensive work rate from the front.

Having Ibrahimovic back and available for United is a bonus, especially as there is a possibility of Lukaku picking up a suspension for tangling with Brighton's Gaetan Bong at the weekend.

However, Sky Sports News understands that the panel could not agree that an offence was committed and Lukaku, therefore, avoids what could have been a three-game ban for violent conduct.

The form and mentality of some of their other players is concerning the manager, though. Mourinho has stuck with Lukaku despite his bad run, but his patience is known to be on a short fuse as the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw will attest to.

"And today they were behind the team. They have a good coach and have improved a lot from last season".

Mourinho's side, now second in the league, remain eight points behind leaders Manchester City, who are unbeaten with 37 points after 13 matches.

Though Watford were trounced 6-0 by City in September, they have doled out some bloody noses on their home turf, holding Liverpool to a 3-3 draw in their first game and beating Arsenal 2-1 last month.
