According to a statement released by her rep: "On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home".

"Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody.I'll be alright.might just take some time." she wrote.

'Jesus take the wheel' hit singer, Carrie Underwood is recovering after suffering a broken wrist and other injuries, her spokesperson has told press in USA.

The award winning 34-year-old singer fell outside of her house and sustained cuts and bruises and was hospitalised in Nashville.

Fans took to social media to send their well-wishes to the country music superstar, and she followed up with them yesterday. Carrie followed up with a thank you to all her fans on Sunday, Nov. 12. Her husband, retired NHL hockey star Mike Fisher, traveled to Nashville to be with her.

Underwood, whose hits include "Something in the Water" and "Before He Cheats", had just co-hosted the CMA Awards this past Wednesday with singer Brad Paisley.

At this year's 51st annual CMAs, where seven-time Grammy Award victor Underwood had been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, she and Paisley somberly addressed the horrific recent events.

As previously reported, Underwood became emotional during the Country Music Association's star-studded award extravaganza as she crooned "Softly and Tenderly" during the touching in memoriam segment.

On the said event, the "Before He Cheats" singer cried when she performed a moving tribute for over 50 men and women who were killed after a gunman opened fire during the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas on October 1. She wound up in hospital with a few cuts and bruises, as well as a broken wrist which caused her to cancel her Sunday show.
