Doctor Who's New Doctor Has A New Outfit

Doctor Who has a new look - and the BBC is giving the world a first glimpse.

This image (see the full one below) comes courtesy of the BBC, and we have to say that in between the rainbow effect on the shirt and the suspenders, there's a serious Mork from Mork & Mindy vibe going on here. Does the TARDIS wardrobe get raided again in a post-regeneration flurry of activity? Presumably, those new characters will either be the Doctor's newest companions or the people who become important to her journey next season. Digital editor, social media director, educator.

Doctor Who fans rejoice.

Whittaker is the first female Doctor in Doctor Who's 50-plus year history.

With the addition of braces which hark back to the eccentricity of the Second and Eleventh Doctors (Patrick Troughton and #MattSmith), this really is a bold and retro look for the new Doctor - and the TARDIS too! Does this make you more excited to see Doctor Who season 11?

Her clothing evokes the outfits sported by actor Peter Davison, the fifth person to play "Doctor Who", and Tom Baker, who was the fourth person cast in the role.

It's not gone unnoticed by fans with one saying it "has great elements from previous Doctors".

Sporting a quirky set of colorful clothes and a very fitting coat, Whittaker looks excellent as the new Doctor and certainly seems ready to take on all sorts of dimensional and outer space threats.

They are Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole and Sharon D Clarke. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: "hope".
