Teddy's back! Vikings activate Bridgewater, Bradford to IR

It's unclear if he will get a chance to play this season, since the Vikings are 4-2 with Keenum as the starter. While Keenum isn't the Vikings' long-term answer behind center, he's been serviceable while Bradford has missed all but two games this season, so it may take an injury to Keenum or decline in performance before Bridgewater sees snaps in 2017.

The Vikings announced Wednesday they had moved Bridgewater off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, making him eligible to play in any of the team's remaining games.

Multiple reports have indicated that Case Keenum will likely start this week against Washington.

The Vikings on Wednesday officially activated Teddy Bridgewater to the 53-man roster and placed Sam Bradford on injured reserve.

Mortensen says Andrews had previously shared that Bradford's knee is structurally sound, and nothing he saw during Tuesday's procedure would indicate anything different.

He had an abbreviated start against Chicago October 9 but was extremely immobile and was devoured by the Bears pass rush. Nothing else was working, and we just had to try something.

"It was just lingering", Zimmer said of the decision for Bradford to have surgery.

Bradford becomes a free agent after the season. Zimmer said Bridgewater at times has been rusty. "We're just trying to get him to where everybody feels comfortable with it". Keenum is expected to start Sunday against the NFC West-leading Rams, a game that could go a long way in determining whether he keeps the starting job for the stretch run.
