Blizzard Announces New Healer and Map for Overwatch, Premier Next Animated Short

Blizzard has provided a deeper breakdown of Moira's abilities and backstory on the official Overwatch site, however, is yet to announce a release date.

Blizzard has revealed some significant new content for Overwatch as part of the opening ceremony at BlizzCon 2017. She will also sport a movement ability, fade, which will allow her to quickly teleport over a short distance. Able to alter DNA at a cellular level, it looked like one of the best steps to stamping out diseases and disorders that had ever been researched, but her peers weren't happy with the findings.

"Moira's biotic abilities enable her to contribute healing or damage in any crisis". Fortunately, she found a new home in Overwatch's covert ops division Blackwatch, who came to her with an offer she couldn't refuse. However, Blizzard did joke that she is an incredibly powerful character that the team is eager to see implemented into the game.

Finally, we leave you with this new Overwatch short called "Honor and Glory" that tells the emotional - seriously, there might be tears - story of how Reinhardt and his brother fought during the Omnic wars.

She's got to balance these, though: using the healing attack, she expends energy, which is then replenished with her damaging attack, which also heals Moira.

We already know that Moira is a support character that is capable of both healing and dealing damage.

Coalescence - Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.

Overwatch is celebrating the entirety of Blizzard Entertainment with a new theme park map as well as introducing a brand new hybrid support hero.
