Stranger Things season 2 trailer is a fantastic Friday the 13th treat

We've been promised a darker, scarier season two, and the trailer drives that home.

Happy Friday the 13th-in October, no less. Netflix just dropped the final trailer for the re-up and it will have you fiending to starting binging the new episodes.

Remember when Stranger Things first hit Netflix and it was all anyone could talk about and - amazingly - about half that discussion was about the soundtrack? The trailer begins with the fan favourite Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and we're certain she'll charm the audience this season as well. Along they way, they contend with supernatural forces unleashed from an alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.

While Eleven was the last season's great hope for defeating the Demogorgon, it seems everything's resting on Will this season (with the help of his teen pals, who are shown traipsing right into the Upside Down).

Stranger Things season 2 is set about a year after the events of the first season and finds the reunited friends trying to get their lives back to normal.

According to this official teaser, we know that Will Byers went missing in Hawkins, Indiana on November 6, 1983 before being found alive a few days later.

Get ready to return to the "Upside Down"-because it's coming whether you're ready or not". But it's all connected to this singular threat which is tied into this shape that Will sees in the sky.

New cast members for season two include Sadie Sink, Paul Reiser, Dacre Montgomery, Sean Astin, Linnea Berthelsen, Will Chase and Brett Gelman.
