An 11-year-old girl in Utah was caught on camera learning that she was officially adopted.

Tannah (center) says her foster parents take "really good care of her".

Ms Fisher and her husband will adopt Tannah after fostering her for two years.

"It's the biggest thing that ever happened to me", 11-year-old Tannah Butterfield told KUTV.

The office manager at her school, Jackie Alexander, delivered the good news and her heartwarming reaction was caught on tape by the security cameras.

Upon hearing the news, Tannah leapt into her teacher's arms to embrace her and refused to let go. "You get your forever family", said Alexander. I don't think even I could understand myself what that moment would feel like.

"She's just one that I've made a little bond with and it's lasted", Alexander said.

Foster mother Jennifer Fisher called Jackie as soon as the courts approved their application, asking her to let Tannah know when she visited her office. She told KSL she wanted to share the video of Tannah to show that there's still positivity in the world. "You get your forever family", Jackie Alexander said. "It resembled 'ah!' It resembled shouting", she said.

It is the handsome moment being shared around the world. My love has grown for this family and I have learned so much from them as they have tried to remain positive despite many setbacks.

The average age of a child awaiting adoption is around seven years, and they usually spend around three years in foster care. "A lot of it is cyclical stuff that we see, so when we never engage that child and break the cycle, we in turn empower that cycle", he said.
