On one fourth-quarter drive, Florida redshirt freshman quarterback Feleipe Franks found sophomore receiver Freddie Swain on a crossing pattern on third-and-three, but Swain failed to turn upfield and came up a yard shot.

"We couldn't get the plays in so once we got the plays in we had to hurry up and rush", Perine said. "They're just trying to set the Gators up, right?" coach Jim McElwain said.

The LSU band posted an explanation on its Facebook page Sunday, saying that the band has played at the end of the third quarter for the past several decades.

LSU's Danny Etling was 9-of-16 passes for 125 yards, while the quarterback ran nine times for 26 yards.
