Las Vegas mass shooter may have hired a prostitute days before attack

Two months before carrying out the attack from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Paddock booked a pair of rooms across the street from Chicago's Grant Park, where the Lollapalooza music festival was held from August 3 to August 6, TMZ reported.

But according to a new report, the terrorist might have been targeting another show.

After the worst mass shooting in modern US history, police issued a search warrant looking for the two vehicles tied to the shooter, one of which was the Hyundai Tucson.

On Sunday night, Paddock used his perch in a suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort to unleash a barrage of rapid gunfire on a crowd of country music fans attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival.

"It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone", said attorney Matthew Lombard as he read a statement by Danley.

The security guard who first approached Stephen Paddock's hotel suite during the massacre in Las Vegas was shot in the leg and continued to help clear rooms after getting injured, police said.

While investigators do not believe Paddock conspired with an accomplice, they are looking into the possibility that others knew about his plot beforehand, Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said Friday.

He said that it was only logical to "make the assumption" that Paddock had "some help at some point" in pulling off Sunday's massacre, pointing to Paddock's huge arsenal, explosive materials found in his vehicle and his meticulous planning.

"You have to make an assumption that he had some help at some point", Lombardo said, describing the attack as meticulously planned.

A spokeswoman confirms to WGN that a person matching the name Stephen Paddock reserved a room at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago in August during Lollapalooza. There is no evidence that Paddock's act was an act of terror. At this time, the content of the note is unknown.

Police are now trying to identify a "mystery woman" seen with Paddock in the days before he carried out the massacre. Today (October 5), TMZ is reporting that the 64-year-old gunman may have also had sinister motives for Lollapalooza earlier this year.
