Instagram's New Features Allows You To Poll Your Friends

Instagram is following in their footsteps with their polling feature within Stories.

Instagram is looking to make its Stories feature more interactive so it has announced the launch of a new feature that will make users interact more with them. Once you have a photo or video added to your story you can use the eye-dropper tool to the left of the color options to choose a color from that photo or video that you wish to use for your text. Once you publish, anyone who views your story will be able to vote and see the real-time results.

They can indicate the center of the photo or video or alert you that where you chose to place the text or sticker is a spot that might get covered by whoever is viewing your story. If voters want to follow the competition, they can just click on your story a second time (or third, or fourth), and the tallies will update with the latest results. Instagram is a free download from the App Store.

The temporal nature of Instagram Stories (they're only viewable for 24 hours) makes pairing them with polls a smart idea. There you'll see everything you need to get the best answer for your question. The updates rolled out Tuesday to all users running version 16.0 or higher of Instagram.

You'll also see two new tools to help make your stories even more creative: a color picker for text and brushes and an alignment tool for text and stickers. You, on the other hand, can view the results by opening up the viewers' list for the Story.

It can be used to select any color from the photo or video and to apply it to the text or drawing tool. iOS users will find that when they position text or a sticker on their photo or video, new blue lines will pop up to help them center it.
