Dembele injured in first Barca league start

Barcelona came from behind this afternoon to take the three points on offer against Getafe.

Getafe took the lead through Gaku Shibasaki, but an average Barca drew level thanks to Denis Suarez.

Dembele, Barcelona's record signing, had started against Juventus in the club's 3-0 Champions League win on Tuesday.

It was the home side that had the first half-chance of the match inside the opening two minutes, but Molina's effort from distance was gathered by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Ousmane Dembele's full La Liga debut with Barcelona following a 105 million-euro ($125 million) move from Borussia Dortmund lasted just 29 minutes as the Frenchman pulled up with a hamstring injury.

Getafe had a wonderful chance to take the lead in the 17th minute when a deflected Shibasaki cross fell for Molina at the far post, but the striker turned just the wrong side of the post as Barcelona survived another risky moment.

Signed in the summer transfer window for a club-record £96.8m to replace Neymar, who joined Paris St-Germain, Dembele was making his first league start for Barcelona.

Barcelona found their equaliser after half-time through Denis Suarez, who received a pass from Sergi Roberto inside the box and fired a right-footed shot across keeper Vicente Guaita and into the far corner.

Table toppers Barcelona have now won five games out of five in the Spanish La Liga.

However, it wasn't all good news for the Catalans as Ousmane Dembele injured his hamstring after sprinting for the ball just after the 20 minute mark.
