Patten & Patten Inc. TN Takes Position in Tesla Inc. (TSLA)

The Model 3 has taken its rightful position as the "e" and Tesla's upcoming Model Y will complete his naming plan. That's still a good place to be from a cash perspective, and it nearly guarantees that Tesla will sell all of the vehicles it can produce not only this year, but also for all of 2018.

"As a result of the rapid ramp up in Model 3 production and the significant increase in capital expenditures required under the production plan, we expect that Tesla will remain free cash flow negative into 2019" and face "large cash requirements" through next year, Moody's said.

David and Tom just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy right now. and Tesla wasn't one of them!

The Tesla bonds will have to be repaid to investors in eight years but the interest rate on offer to investors has not yet been decided. Since December, Tesla has burned through more than $350 million in cash, and the spending on ramping up Model 3 production is just beginning.

While Tesla said that it wouldn't raise more capital through equity, it opened the door to revisit another round of debt through convertible notes.

But last week, Musk clarified his comments, and said Tesla should be able to overcome any supplier issues and other potential obstacles.

Tesla Motors has priced the Model 3 at $35,000 (Rs 23 lakh). J P Morgan Chase & Co raised their price objective on Tesla from $185.00 to $190.00 and gave the company an underweight rating in a research note on Monday, May 8th.

The bond sale is the latest in a series of moves Tesla made to pad its coffers this year.

At the end of June, Tesla had total cash on hand of US$3.0bn, compared to US$4.0bn the previous quarter. The rush of pre-orders allowed Tesla to recently become the biggest U.S. auto company in terms of market capitalisation, despite the fact that General Motors (GM) and Ford produce millions of cars per year and Tesla has yet to make a profit. The Model 3, he said, was designed from the outset with mass production in mind to push down cost and crank cars out quickly. It's also doing business with municipalities, with Musk planning to build the world's biggest battery to support South Australia's blackout-plagued power grid. In fact, there were around 63,000 customers who canceled their reservations as the original number of pre-orders was disclosed to be 518,000 cars.

Solar power and battery storage now make up a small percentage of Tesla revenue, but it has high hopes for both.
