Is Amazon Building a New Messaging App Called 'Anytime'?

E-commerce giant Amazon appears to be planning for its own full-featured, standalone messaging app called Anytime.

Of course it will have the usual messaging, video and voice calls, which are standards for any messaging app. It is also claimed that Anytime will keep chats private and give users the option to encrypt important messages.

The app will offer even more decent UI and there will be no any phone number needed to sign up for this app. Users will be able to use this app just like Twitter handles. The entrance of Amazon in social media industry is definitely an alarm for other messaging app players.

We're in danger of heading back to the days of the late-90s/early 00s where we were overwhelmed by instant messaging tools, very few of which were compatible with one another.

Other new features include the ability to pin chats to the top of chat lists and multiple photos can now be forwarded quickly and deleted all at once.

The app will also allow for photo sharing with filters. All features mentioned above can already be found on Facebook's Messenger app, but it's easy to see encryption as something users will be attracted to.

The new service will reportedly be called Anytime.

The site also uploaded an image about Amazon's expected platform. But Instagram also had an existing user base and promotional links with its parent company Facebook as well, which it could use to grow the service. There are countless other companies in the mobile messaging arena as well. If that tech giant can't make a dent, it's even less clear how Amazon thinks it can. The Amazon Anytime app is said to be launched soon.

However, there's nothing shocking about Amazon working on its messaging app considering that the company already runs a video-conferencing app named Chime that caters to the business users.
