Police ID some victims of Kentucky crash

They were identified as 77-year-old Robert Hogan, 48-year-old Jonell Boster and 17-year-old Carl Boster, all of Beech Grove, Indiana; and 59-year-old Lonnie Boster and 30-year-old Lonnie D. Boster, both of Indianapolis.

The driver of the Volvo tractor trailer was treated at the scene and released. "A second commercial vehicle approached in the right lane, failing to stop for traffic, striking the trailing passenger vehicle, causing a chain-reaction collision". A young child in that van was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive. An involved commercial vehicle was stopped in traffic, in the right lane of I-65, with two passenger vehicles stopped immediately behind it.

The crash happened around 10:38 p.m. near mile marker 30 in Bowling Green.

Four of the six victims in the fatal crash Thursday night on I-65 were members of a Beech Grove, Ind. family, and a fifth was a family friend, according to Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby. Traffic was backed up due to the construction. The collision involves two passenger vehicles and two commercial vehicles. All northbound lanes remained closed until just after 5 a.m. while the investigation began, with traffic diverted onto USA 31-W at Exit 28 in the meantime.

Hodges said the northbound lanes in that area may have to be shut down temporarily. "Folks need to be careful driving through there around the 30-mile mark northbound".

The sixth victim of the crash's identity will be released after their family is notified.
