Quentin Tarantino Eyeing Brad Pitt And Jennifer Lawrence For Charles Manson Movie

Quentin Tarantino hasn't gotten the history bug out of his system just yet, but he is moving on from the wild, wild west to the American mid-century.

Emerging reports indicate that the movie may also focus on the most famous victim of the incident, Sharon Tate, who was French-Polish film director, producer, writer and actor, Roman Polanski's wife. Perhaps Tarantino has been using it as inspiration or a guide as he finishes the script. According to reports, Tarantino has already approached Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence and Margot Robbie to play crucial roles in the film.

THR notes that the film would mark Tarantino's first feature film to be based on a true story; his 2009 film, Inglourious Basterds, was set during World War II but depicted an alternate historical reality. The Manson murders film will likely shoot in the summer of 2018. Plenty of time to listen to Karina Longworth's Manson episodes of You Must Remember This before then!

Now we know what one of them will be: a movie about the Charles Manson murders. Tate, who was eight-months pregnant at the time and four other people were brutally murdered in the home by the Manson Family followers. The site has also heard that Pitt's character could be a detective investigating the Tate murders. Two years after the murders, Manson and a number of Family members were sentenced to life in prison.

Tarantino has always been interested in eschewing historical accuracy in favor of puncturing assumptions about film genres and, in particular, the mechanics of violence.

Manson had ordered a group of his followers to attack the inhabitants of a house in the Benedict Canyon part of Los Angeles, believing it was owned by a record produced who earlier had rejected him.

As per the Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino - whose most recent film was 2015's The Hateful Eight - is planning on writing and directing the film, as he's done for much of his career.
