Friday forecast: Slight chance of storms, still hot

Showers and storms were active early this morning and we may have a few storm cells prompting Storm Warnings for unsafe winds and lightning later this afternoon.

Tonight: Storms wind down by midnight. Highs will be in the lower half of the 80s. These storms will need to be watched through the evening. 20% rain chance, severe weather not likely. Winds N 5-10 miles per hour.

A few strong storms this weekend could impact weekend plans around the ArkLaTex. A cold front drops us down into the mid-80s on Sunday, humidity drops, and there will be plenty of sun.

The weekend will start cooler with highs in the 70s Saturday.

Happy Thursday! It's a bit muggy this morning, but the heat and humidity are really going to crank up today.

Lows Saturday will be in the mid-70s followed by highs in the low to mid-90s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. Chance for a shower or thunderstorm.

Typical summertime weather is in the forecast for much of next week.

Scattered strong storms will form this afternoon ahead of a cold front and some of these storms will be risky. Models continue to weaken the depression into an open wave by early next week. For the weekend, Saturday will be the hotter and more humid half with some pop-up showers and storms during the PM hours.
