Donald Trump rails at 'fake news' CNN following news retraction

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump on Tuesday took to the social media during a Twitter spat with CNN to lambast popular media houses in the country of publishing fake News.

The producer, identified as John Bonifield, said it appeared CNN had no "smoking gun" evidence of wrongdoing by the president and was giving the story extensive coverage because it was good for the ratings.

Thomas Frank, who wrote the piece, Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the investigative unit, and Lex Haris, an editor at CNN since 2001 who oversaw the unit, are all departing following a management review of the story.

The retracted story connected Anthony Scaramucci, a top proponent of Trump, to a Russian investment fund run by a bank controlled by the Kremlin.

While promoting their new video release, Project Veritas labeled CNN "American Pravda", quoting CNN producer John Bonifield, who was caught on tape admitting how Trump has been "good for business" as the there is "no real proof" on the Russian Federation scandal, but it's a business.

"They are all Fake News!" the president charged.

In addition to his tweets about CNN on Tuesday, Trump also retweeted four Fox News stories. Several leaks and continued false coverage of the story by the mainstream media, especially CNN continued to hamper the agendas of the Trump administration.

CNN removed the story and all connecting links to it late Friday, saying the story did not meet its editorial standards. Three CNN journalists who had been involved in the story resigned after the retraction.

Donald Trump Jr.is calling for CNN President Jeff Zucker to explain the retracted story. CNN also apologized to Scaramucci. Trump tweeted. "What about the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost?" CNN accepted the journalists' resignations Monday.

A CNN network executive who requested to remain anonymous stated one of the reasons the story was pulled was because it was not handled with the due checks and cautiousness as it should have been, considering the sensitivity of the issue.
