Rohit, Bumrah rested; Rishabh, Kuldeep for West Indies tour

Kohli will continue to captain the side with Dhoni expected to continue keeping the stumps.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav were picked Thursday for India's limited-overs tour of the West Indies comprising five one-day internationals and one Twenty20 starting June 23. Both players put in some really good performances in the Ranji Trophy last season and are seen as future stars of the team. Kumble is one of the candidates in contention, after the BCCI invited applications for the job amid reports that Virat Kohli and some senior players were unhappy with Kumble's methods.

Paceman Jasprit Bumrah is another member of the Champions Trophy squad, who has been rested for the short tour comprising five ODIs and a T20 global.

The other significant development is that Anil Kumble has agreed to go to the West Indies.

Pant seemed to have been rewarded for his excellent showing on the domestic circuit, including impressive displays in the India n Premier League (IPL) tournament.

The rest of the team remained unchanged, including the administrative staff, though there has been no clarification as to who would be the head coach of the Indian team.

Chinaman Kuldeep, after a lion-hearted show in the Dharamsala Test against Australia, makes it to the ODI squad after the 2014 series against Sri Lanka, where he did not get a game.

Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav have alos been named.

Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Yuvraj Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Mohd.
